Moments make more sense with context

Notice the moment. Understand the why.

KnowMyWhy is a calm reflective space for young people, parents and professionals to record moments, add context later and build a clearer picture across home and education.

Different perspectives, one clearer picture

Built around the person, not just the record.

KnowMyWhy can be used personally on its own, or connected with family and professionals when that is useful. The aim is one young person’s story, built from different perspectives without reducing them to behaviour scores or professional interpretations.

01 · Personal

For your own moments

Young people, parents and carers can record moments, return to add context and build useful summaries without needing a school to use KnowMyWhy.

03 · Pilots

For testing what matters

Closed-beta pilots focus on usefulness, young-person control, staff workload, review quality and whether reflection leads to better support conversations.

Connections & sharing

Use it independently. Connect when it helps.

A parent or young person does not need their school to use KnowMyWhy. When people do choose to connect, authorised accounts can contribute to the same young-person record and shared chronology.

01Young person

Their words, moments and preferences stay central.

02Parent / carer

Home context can sit alongside what happens elsewhere.

03School / professional

Professional observations can add another perspective.

One shared pictureShared chronology

Different perspectives around the same young person, with sharing kept deliberate.

Moments to patterns

Reflection, without rushing the explanation.

Capture first, add context later and look across separate observations over time. Patterns support curiosity and conversation; they do not make clinical judgements or decide what a moment means.

01

Record a Moment

Capture something that felt good, hard or simply worth remembering — without needing to explain everything at once.

02

Add context

Return when it feels right to add what was happening around the Moment, what you noticed and what may have helped.

03

Reflect

Make space for the person’s own words, preferences and perspective rather than rushing to a conclusion.

04

Notice patterns

Look across separate Moments over time and decide what might be useful to revisit, share or try next.

Care before claims

Context deserves to be handled thoughtfully.

People first

The person’s words, preferences and perspective stay central, including when a parent, carer or professional adds their own observation.

No automatic conclusions

Patterns can support reflection and conversation. They are not diagnoses, clinical findings, behaviour scores or proof of cause and effect.

Sharing you can understand

Linked accounts are optional. Invitations are claimed and approved before access is granted, and private Moments remain creator-only.

KnowMyWhy is currently in closed beta. Account, sharing and deletion controls continue to be tested before wider release. The public website itself does not collect or store Moments.
